eSun Matte PLA 1.75mm 1kg Roll - 14 Colours Available)

eSun Matte PLA 1.75mm 1kg Roll - 14 Colours Available)

1kg of eSUN Matte PLA 3D printing filament, comes vacuum-sealed inside a cardboard box.

A superb easy-to-print filament, strong and rigid, but with a smooth matte finish that makes it great for display and easier to paint without surface preparation.

Manufacturer stated Printing Settings:

  • Printing Temperature:200-220℃ - See notes below.
  • Bed Temperature:0-70℃
  • Printing Speed:30~90mm/s - See notes below.
  • Travel Speed :90~150mm/s

Usage notes:

This filament looks fantastic for printing models for display or items that will be painted right away rather than sanding and filling the surface. The matte texture disguises layer lines effectively and gives the surface a less plastic appearance. Durability and layer adhesion are high among PLA filaments but not quite as high as PLA+, PLA-HS or PLA-ST. Flexibility and resistance to impact are decent, though fine details and thin sections can be more crumbly than the above-mentioned PLAs.

Overall,  this filament is a great choice for anything except pieces requiring the highest mechanical properties and toughness to bending where thin sections could be stressed heavily.

The mattifying additives make the filament a touch less dense and a little less free-flowing than regular PLAs such as PLA-HS or PLA+. Existing general PLA+ or PLA-HS profiles should be functional with a slight drop to the maximum volumetric flow. You may need to dial up your extrusion amount a couple of percent to compensate as well. Stringing is often minimal, appearing often as fat strings rather than wisps if present.

High-speed printing up to and above 300mm/s has worked comfortably. Your mileage may vary depending on the strength of your extruder, nozzle diameter, layer height, speed,  etc. We always recommend running the full suite of filament tuning tests, now built into many slicers, to get the best performance settings for any new filament on your machine!
